Three-position control has wide application in valve position control of 90°or 180°three-way ball valve or plug valve. ALSD series three-position valve controller is mounted on 90°or 180°pneumatic actuator. Through the zero, neutral and close positions which can be adjusted, controlled and stopped, it provides a solution to control three positions easily and has also function of delay and resistance to water hammer.

Operation introduction:

1.Pull SW1 to ON position, first set closing position, then intermediate position and finally opening position with 3 keys so as to confirm accurate setting.
2.Pull SW1 to OFF position (at this time, press 3 keys for simulating commands from control room for test if the function is accurate).
3.If it is difficult to set due to to-and-fro drift, the inlet gas can be adjusted by throttle valve.

Notes for input and output:
Power: +24V、-GND

Signal of potentiometer: P1, P2, P3

I. Input signal: (command from control room: low-level pulse effective, GND is a common port)
  1. CLOSE (valve needs to be closed)
  2. MID (valve needs to be in neutral position)
  3. OPEN (valve needs to be opened)
(Note: The system will make relevant action according to the control command received finally)

II. Output signal: (state signal input to control room: 24V, GND is a common port)
OUTC: the valve is in close position; OUTM: the valve is in neutral position;

OUTO: the valve is in open position;

III. Solenoid valve signal: (control duplex electric-controlled solenoid valve)
  1.Close the valve signal (VC+, VC-)
  2.Open the valve signal (VC+, VC-)

Instruction on manual control:

Manual control key (3):
1. Commissioning keys: 3 keys (manual control function/analog command of control room--distinguishing functions according to SW1:ON/OFF)
  K_C: manual closing of valve/request to close valve;
  K_M: set function key/request the valve to be in neutral position;
  K_O: manual opening of valve/request to open valve;

2. Setting function: K_M key (when SW1=ON, it is active, used for setting closing position, neutral position and opening position)
  Operating procedure: (after entering the setting state, valve position can be adjusted manually by K_C and K_O keys).
  A) Press K_M key for long time to make LED yellow light flash for several times, then release this button and make the system go into setting state;
  B) Press K_C key to make the valve in close position, press K_M key for short time to make LED yellow light flash for one time, go into the next setting state:
  C) Press K_C or K_O key to make the valve in neutral position, press K_M key for short time to make LED yellow light flash for one time, go into the next setting state:

  D) Press K_O key to make the valve in open position, press K_M key for short time to make LED yellow light flash for several times, the setting is finished.

Pull SW1 to OFF position to make the system enter into normal working state automatically (if yellow light flashes continuously, it means the positions are overlapped or the potentiometer is in blind area, the start position of potentiometer needs to be adjusted for resetting).

LED lamps:
(The functions are distinguished according to SW1:ON/OFF)

  1.LED_C (red lamp): An indicating lamp indicating that “solenoid valve closing coil power indicator/valve is in “close state”

  2.LED_M (yellow lamp): An indicating lamp indicating that setting process state indicator/valve is in “neutral state” during the setting

  3.LED_O (red lamp): An indicating lamp indicating that “solenoid valve opening coil power indicator/valve is in “open state”

Jumper switch (4 positions):

  1.SW1:ON/OFF——manual setting function/(analog) control room command

  2.SW2:ON/OFF——delay /no delay while valve is closed (3 seconds)

  3.SW3:ON/OFF——delay /no delay while valve is oped (3 seconds)

  4.SW4:ON/OFF——deviation±3%/deviation±2%
